Abbots Clear (Cone 3-6) GLAZE for Mugs
Version specially formulated for mugs.
 
 
This is a variation of standard Abbots Clear with increased Coefficiant of Expansion.
 
We believe this version to be better matched to Decopot Bisque mugs than the original insofar as it is more resistant to the thermal stress caused by boiling water. 
 
An exceptionally useful glossy transparent glaze for firing between 1150C and 1200C.
This low-expansion glaze will fit most clay bodies and can easily be adjusted if required.
 
Takes stains well (depending on temperature) and is a brilliant choice for use with underglaze paints. 
It suspends well when set at 1350 – 1420g/l density.  Use Epsom Salt as a flocculant if desired. 
 
Can easily be converted into a brushable glaze if dispersed in a suitable medium.
 
This low-clay glaze is not frequently used as a base coat for layered effects.
 
Abbots Clear is safe to use on food contact surfaces.
